Camden County College Trails – Blackwood, NJ

Camden County College Trails – Blackwood, Camden County, NJ Distance – supposedly 8 miles of trails total.  We did 2 1/2 miles, but missed a lot. Type – Series of interlocking loops Difficulty: 3 of 10 – built for bikes, so more climbs and descents than a normal trail in South Jersey

Website – None Open – Sunrise to Sunset.

Terrain – Hills, swamps, forests Surface – Largely sandy and rooty, fun!

Trailheads – 39°46’40.00″N, 75° 2’14.26″W

Signal Hill Tract – Clementon, NJ

Signal Hill Tract – Clementon, Camden County, NJ Distance – not sure how many  miles total, we did 1 1/2 and definitely missed some trails. Type – Intersecting loops Difficulty:  3 of 10 – hills!  Hills!

Website – None Open – 8 am to dusk

Terrain – Hills and forest Surface – dirt trails

Trailheads – 39°47’50.78″N, 74°59’32.44″W

Directions – Cherry Lane and Davis Ave, Clementon, NJ

Parking – Roadside parking

Coffins Corner – Voorhees, NJ

Updated: 4/24/21 – the house was knocked down earlier this week.

The Coffin family can be traced back to 12th Century England, but entered into South Jersey history in the 1800s with William Coffin, whose father had come down from New England (where the family had roots going back to the Mayflower).  William Coffin became, among other things, the proprietor of the tavern at Long-a-Coming (now Berlin) before going into the glass making business.  As part of this business, he went on to found the towns of Hammonton (named in honor of his son John Hammond [...]
