It’s June! That means that the American Hiking Society’s Annual National Trails Day is nearly upon us! It will take place on D-Day, next Saturday June 6. Want to celebrate? Just go out and hike any trail! Want to celebrate at an official event? Here are some in South Jersey that are taking place!
NOTE: South Jersey Trails is not affiliated in any way with any of these events, please check their respective websites for any last minute changes! In fact, South Jersey Trails will be camping in Delaware with the Boy Scouts next weekend (don’t worry, we’ll be celebrating down there)!
The big day is here, happy National Trails Day! I hope that everyone was able to get a few miles in today!
The Pres, The Wife, and unnicknamed baby and a couple of Scouts celebrated this morning on the trails at the previously reviewed Black Run Preserve in Evesham. We had a nice 2 1/2 mile hike through the trees and old bogs there.
National Trails Day is this Saturday! For those not in the know, this is a holiday created by the American Hiking Society, mostly because hiking needs it’s own day. There are lots of ways to celebrate – help clean or maintain a trail or simply go out an enjoy an organized hike, or one on your own!
If there are other National Trails Day events that you’ve heard about in the great state of South Jersey, please let me know so that I can include them!
