Park Closures in South Jersey

Updated: 4/7/20 @ 3:30 PM

With the governor’s announcement, all New Jersey State and County Parks are closed.

There will be an avalanche of other town and private park closings in the next 24 hours that are going to be impossible for me to keep track of.

Therefore, it’s probably best for everyone to assume that all trails are closed in South Jersey.

Everyone please stay safe. We’ll see you on the other side.

  1. This is from an email I received
COVID-19 Update from Delaware State Parks

Park offices and nature centers will close after the end of the day today, Tuesday, March 17. State Park programs and tours are canceled.

State parks are open, and no entrance fees will be charged from now until April 30. All state park campsites, cabins, bathhouses, and cottages continue to be open at this time. Anyone visiting a park or wildlife area is encouraged to engage in responsible social distancing practices, avoiding groupings of people.

Annual park passes, good for the entire season, and surf fishing tags should be purchased online only or at any third-party agents instead of at park offices or in the Dover office. Purchased park passes will be mailed before April 30.

  2. Good day, The trails at Rancocas Nature Center remain OPEN – though the Visitor Center is closed. For the sake of clarity – the trails are in Rancocas State Park but the Center is jointly sustained by the Friends of the Nature Center and the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Kudo to the professionals in the Parks Department!!!
