It’s February, it’s freezing cold out. So I went camping last weekend.
We didn’t get any big hikes in, but the Scouts and I did head down to Cape May on Saturday in between nights camping at Belleplain. I’ve been to Cape May in the winter several times, but I hadn’t seen it like this before! It looked like the Antarctic!

Meanwhile, down at the bay… ice flows? That Scout is standing at the very edge of what is usually the beach.

We checked out the concrete ship while we were down there. Apparently we were late. Earlier in the week, folks were walking all the way out to the ship on the ice!
I’m totally ready for Spring and ice-free trails where I don’t have to worry about slipping with the baby, but the winter can be pretty amazing too!
Wow! Hardcore camping in these temperatures! I don’t envy you. Seems like Jersey is feeling more like Minnesota this winter. I am over it. Bring on spring! 🙂
The camping wasn’t bad really, no mosquitoes! As the old saying goes, “there isn’t inappropriate weather, only inappropriate clothing for it.”
That being said, Spring please?
